To Whom It May Concern;

I am writing to you today concerning a concert at Peachtree Christian Church in Midtown. This concert will begin at 8:00 pm

on March 16, 2010 in our wonderful sanctuary. I am listing below a brief summary of the singers and the music which will be performed.

We are RedHot & Blue! In 1977, members from one of Yale’s women’s a cappella groups joined with members from one of Yale’s men’s groups and formed the University’s first and oldest co-educational a cappella group. They named the group RedHot & Blue after a musical by Cole Porter, an alumnus of the University. Since its beginnings, RedHot has held true to its tradition of a jazz repertoire—blending traditional jazz music with the fresh and upbeat flair of the collegiate a cappella tradition. Currently, our repertoire consists of jazz classics such as “Angel Eyes,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” and “Sweet Blindness,” as well as Gershwin’s “Summertime,” the old gospel classic “Ride the Chariot,” and our new arrangement of “Blackbird,” originally written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Of course, we’re always in the process of expanding and broadening our repertoire, and in fact, right now, we’re learning an arrangement of an old Jackson Five classic—“ABC!” Currently, there are seventeen members in the group, though the number fluctuates slightly from year to year. Since our debut, we have released twelve studio albums and had the privilege to sing all over the world: from Greece to San Francisco, even to the grand rooms of the White House.
