Georgia Southern University Appoints GH&I’s John Shurley to Forensic Accounting Advisory Board
ATLANTA, GA – Gifford, Hillegass & Ingwersen LLP (GH&I), the Atlanta-based certified public accounting and advisory firm, announces that partner John Shurley is now a member of the Forensic Accounting Advisory Board at Georgia Southern University. Georgia Southern’s School of Accountancy appointed him to a three-year term on the board.
Shurley is an audit partner and leader of the forensic and litigation support service team at GH&I. He regularly provides litigation support services including court testimony, arbitration and mediation. These engagements have primarily been involved with business valuations, bankruptcies, franchise disputes, contracts, real estate management, debt defaults and insurance liability claims.
Shurley began his accounting career with Ernst & Young in Atlanta, and has been with GH&I since 1982. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) and the Construction Financial Managers Association (CFMA). Shurley earned his B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Georgia.
